The Day of the Test
Computer-based and paper-based testing
What to Bring to the Test Site

For computer-based testing, you MUST bring proper identification as described in "Identification Policy" below to the test center on the day of your test. Please note that you will also be photographed and fingerprinted at the test center as part of the identity verification process. See "Test Site Rules" for information about what is not allowed at the test center.

For paper-based testing, you MUST bring the following with you to the test site:

Admission Ticket Your admission ticket
Sharpened No. 2 Pencils Several sharpened No. 2 pencils with erasers (no pens); pencils will not be supplied at the test site
Identification Required Proper identification as described in “Identification Policy” below

See "Test Site Rules" for information about what is not allowed at the test site.

If you do not have proper identification or your admission ticket, please report directly to the information table at the test site. You may be required to complete additional paperwork, which may reduce your available testing time.

Identification Policy

You must bring the following personal identification to the test administration:

  • One piece of current, government-issued identification, in the name in which you registered, bearing your photograph and signature

Acceptable forms of government-issued identification include photo-bearing driver’s licenses and passports. The Department of Motor Vehicles provides acceptable photo-bearing identification cards for individuals who do not have a driver’s license.
  • One secondary piece of identification (with or without a photograph)

Acceptable forms of secondary identification include student and employee identification cards, social security cards, draft classification cards, and credit cards.

If the name on your identification differs from the name in which you are registered, you must bring official verification of the change (e.g., marriage certificate, court order).
