Computer-Based Testing

Computer-based testing (CBT) is available at more than 225 Pearson Professional Centers throughout the United States and its territories (e.g., Puerto Rico), as well as at over 30 international test centers, including in Canada and Mexico.

Refer to the Pearson VUE Web site at www.pearsonvue.com/vcla for up-to-date information about computer-based test centers, including test center addresses, real-time seat availability, and locations of test centers outside of Virginia.

Registration for CBT is available only on the Internet by selecting "Register Now" on the VCLA Web site. See "Test Fees and Payment Policies" for computer-based testing fees and "Test Selection" for important information about registering for subtests.

In computer-based testing, examinees complete the subtests by selecting answers on-screen to multiple-choice items and typing responses to short-answer items and written assignments. See "Reporting to the Test Site," "What to Bring to the Test Site," and "Test Site Rules" for details about the day of the test, including information about identification and security policies.

Scores are reported within 10 business days of your test date. See "Release of Your Test Scores" for additional information about score reporting.

Please note that individuals who take a subtest on computer must wait 90 days before retaking the same subtest on computer.
