Rescore Policy

For multiple-choice questions, your answers are scored and then verified before your scores are reported. Therefore, further rescoring is not offered.

All written responses are scored according to standardized procedures. Scorers with relevant professional backgrounds are oriented to these procedures and are carefully monitored during scoring sessions. As part of the scoring process, written responses are scored by multiple scorers. However, if you wish to have your written responses reevaluated, you may request a rescore of this section. There is a fee of $50 per subtest for this service.

To request a rescore. A request for rescoring can be submitted online using the Rescore Request Form. Only responses to the constructed-response assignments on the Writing subtest are eligible to be rescored. You must submit your request for this service within 90 calendar days of the score report date. Payment must be made by a credit card (VISA or MasterCard only) or a debit or check card that carries the VISA or MasterCard logo and that can be used without the entry of a personal identification number (PIN).

Resolution. In the event that the rescoring process results in a score alteration, you will be issued a corrected score report, the rescoring fee will be refunded, and your records will be updated. If the original score is confirmed, you will be sent a letter indicating that the score has been confirmed. In this case, your rescoring fee will not be refunded.
